What is Fläsh Whitening?
Fläsh is a whitening system that uses LED light and is done right in the practice. No wearing trays at home for weeks, no strips from the drugstore. One appointment and your teeth are several shades brighter.
The big advantage over older methods: Fläsh is noticeably gentler on tooth enamel. Less sensitivity, better results. And I'm right there should any sensitivity arise.
How the Treatment Works
Quick Check First
Before we start, I examine your teeth. Cavities or leaky fillings? Those need to be fixed first, otherwise the gel can seep in and cause discomfort. I also recommend a dental cleaning beforehand — whitening simply works better on clean teeth.
Protecting the Gums
The gums get a protective layer so only the teeth come into contact with the gel. This takes a few minutes, but it's important — after all, we only want the teeth to get brighter, not the gums irritated.
Gel & LED Light
Now the gel goes on the teeth and the LED lamp activates it. Each cycle takes about 15 minutes. Depending on how bright you want, we repeat it 3 to 4 times. You just lean back and relax.
The Result
After 60 to 90 minutes, it's all done. Then comes the moment everyone looks forward to: looking in the mirror. Most patients are genuinely surprised at how big the difference is.
Benefits of Fläsh
Instantly Visible
No "you'll see results in two weeks". You stand up, look in the mirror — and see the difference right away. In a single appointment.
Gentle on Enamel
Older whitening methods were often harsh on enamel. Fläsh works differently — significantly gentler, with less sensitivity afterwards. Most patients hardly feel a thing.
One Appointment Is All It Takes
60 to 90 minutes, one visit to the practice, and your teeth are several shades brighter. No home kit, no trays, no hassle at home.
Lasts 1 to 3 Years
How long exactly depends on your habits — coffee, red wine, smoking shorten it. But with normal care, you'll enjoy the results for a long time. And a touch-up is straightforward.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is whitening harmful for teeth?
Not when done in the practice. With the Fläsh system, your enamel is just as intact afterwards as before. What I can't recommend: whitening strips, pens, or kits from the internet. The dosage is uncontrolled and there is no check whether your teeth are ready for it.
How white will my teeth get?
That depends on your starting point. Usually we achieve 2 to 5 shades brighter. Hollywood-white isn't necessary — it rarely looks good anyway. I'll honestly advise you on what's realistic and what suits your face.
Will my teeth be sensitive afterwards?
Possibly — mildly, for a day or two. Some notice nothing at all, others feel a brief twinge with cold drinks. It passes. With Fläsh, however, this is significantly less than with older whitening methods.
Who shouldn't get whitening?
If you have cavities or gum problems, those need to be treated first. We don't do whitening during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone under 16. Important to know: crowns and fillings stay as they are — they won't get brighter. But we discuss all this beforehand.
